Audience at the Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri here were enthralled with popular English songs of yesteryears, popularised then by Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Sir Elton John, Queen and songs from music bands Abba and Eagles, now rendered by members of Toccata Musical Productions, United Kingdom along with Bangalore Children’s Chorus supported by guest artiste Frank Konie.
The musical evening was in aid of CSI Holdsworth Memorial Hospital, popularly known as Mission Hospital in city. The funds raised from the event will be utilised to construct the new Operation Theatre (OT) complex at the Hospital.
Led by Dr. Sunil Paulraj, the members of the troupe betted several foot-tapping songs enthusing the audience to shun their inhibition and sway to the numbers. Psychedelic lights coupled with attractive dresses of the singers swaying to the numbers as they rendered added glamour and glitter to the show.
The audience were in shock when the singers suddenly began rendering the Kannada song ‘Strong ittu nan body, weak aythu nin nodi…’ from the movie ‘Vajrakaya’ which was welcomed with a thunderous applause.
The programme was launched by K.B. Ganapathy, Editor-in-Chief, Star of Mysore. MLA Vasu was the chief guest. Mission Hospital Vice-President Dr. C.D. Srinivasamurthy, Director Dr. S.C. Karat, Administrative Officer D.Y. Anil Kumar, Head of General Surgery Dr. Ruben Prakash and others were present on the occasion.
