Mysuru: Mysuru city witnessed heavy rush of tourists, especially those from Kerala.
People with packed food had travelled in cars, buses and tempos to Mysuru and visited tourist spots such as Zoo, Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hill and KRS in Mandya.
The Zoo authorities had also increased security by deploying additional personnel at various locations inside the Zoo. Nazarbad Police had also deployed its personnel who moved around the Zoo premises in mufti to keep a vigil on pick-pockets.
Meanwhile, the Zoo had also instructed visitors not to get the food inside the premises as consumption of food inside the Zoo is prohibited. Gate-keepers were informed to keep an eye on suspicious movements at the entrance.
By 1 pm, Zoo had recorded 11,338 visitors and earned a revenue of Rs. 5,50,291 through entry tickets.
Tourists, who had come with packed food, were seen having it with their family and friends at Doddakere Maidan located opposite Dasara Exhibition Grounds before returning to their native.
