Sir,
One of the major causes of air pollution in Delhi is said to be due to the stubble burning by farmers in Punjab and Haryana. Smoke from this burning produces a cloud of particulates visible in images from space, and has produced a “toxic cloud” in New Delhi, resulting in declarations of an air-pollution emergency.
Something akin to this is being experienced by the residents of Garudachar Layout in city. They are suffering a lot because some miscreants set fire to the garbage every evening on Ring Road near Hinkal Lake. There are mounds of garbage lying around and the place is infested with snakes, vultures and stray dogs. The smoke wafts across and spreads all around the Layout causing air pollution, in turn leading to breathing problems, especially for those suffering from Asthma. Hope the authorities concerned will take immediate action and ease the problem of the residents.
