Mysuru: Opposing the anti-labour policies of the Central Government, members of various Trade Unions are jointly staging a Nation-wide protest on Jan.8 and 9, said AITUC (All India Trade Union Congress) Convenor H.B. Ramakrishna.
He was addressing a press conference at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday and said that in the Nationwide public strike, nearly 20 crore members of AITUC, Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Life Insurance and Bank employees and ten other Labour organisations, will be participating, he added.
Supporting the strike, the AITUC activists will take out a procession from Ramaswamy Circle at 10.30 am on Jan.8 which will end at the Town Hall and at 12.30 pm, a massive public meeting will be held.
Apart from this, at 8 am a bike rally will be taken out in Metagalli and Hootagalli Industrial areas, he said.
CITU’s Jayaram, AITUC’s Chandrashekar Meti, INTUC’s Puttaiah and others were present during the press meet.
