Traffic Cop turns environmentalist: Auto driver made to plant saplings he had destroyed

Mysuru: A Traffic Sub-Inspector, exhibiting her concern towards environment, has made an auto driver plant four saplings after he had destroyed the same on Dattagalli Ring Road.

The driver of a goods auto, while proceeding on Dattagalli Ring Road, had destroyed four neem saplings grown in front of Acharya Convention Hall at Dattagalli by riding the vehicle on the median.

K.R. Traffic Sub-Inspector Vanajakshi, who came to know about it, traced the auto driver and made him get four neem saplings and git it planted by him on the same spot.

The Sub-Inspector said that imposing fine and registering a case is a common procedure, but who is going to replant the saplings. Hence he was asked to plant all the saplings he had destroyed. Labourers who are working nearby have been asked to water the saplings for a few days.

This act by the Sub-Inspector has received appreciation from the public. Inspector Vinay too has appreciated the act of Sub-Inspector Vanajakshi.
