Traffic Wardens conduct series of programmes on traffic awareness at schools

Traffic Wardens conducting awareness programme at JSS Public School, SJCE campus, in city recently.

A series of traffic awareness programmes were conducted by the members of the Mysore City Police Traffic Wardens Organisation at various schools in Mysuru.

As there has been an  increase in road accidents involving particularly the young student community due to various traffic violations, the Organisation planned to conduct such awareness programmes at all schools in Mysuru city by i) power point  presentation of actual traffic accidents in the State and in Mysuru; ii) Videos with live capture of accident in CCTV cameras; iii) DOs and DON’Ts of traffic rules; iv) Interaction with the students on clarifications of various traffic road incidents and rules; v) About formation of student teams under the SARS (Student Association for Road Safety); vi) To teach them the march vii) Teach them the traffic signals so that they could manage the traffic in front of their schools.

In the past fortnight, such programmes have been conducted at the Govt. Primary School, Bogadi, Maria Niketan School, Bogadi, St. Francis High School, Jettihundi, Govt. High School, Bogadi and JSS Public School, JCE compound, Mysuru, Grace Public School, Kumbara Koppal, Sumugha School – Shankaranthi Circle, Rotary School – Hootagalli.

A booklet on traffic awareness was given to all the students.

Deputy Traffic Warden Subramanyam, Traffic Wardens Jayaprakash, K.V. Ramanath, Nagesh, Vasudevamurthy, Manjunath and Vijayendra were present during the programme.
