Mysore/Mysuru: A five-day training-cum-workshop on Testing and Evaluation and Item Writing for Urdu Teachers and Research Scholars of the country began at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of CIIL Mysuru on Feb. 24.
While inaugurating the programme, Prof. P.R. Dharmesh Fernandez, Professor-cum-Deputy Director, said that this workshop is a perfect blend of theory and practice in the area of testing and evaluation. He also emphasised upon the use of state-of-the art technology in the classrooms along with focused curriculum towards skill development.
Dr. Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer In-charge of NTS-I, briefed about the objectives of the workshop. He said that it is ultimately the teachers who transform the educational goals into practice, so their expertise plays a crucial role in educational planning and implementation. He further added that programmes of this kind will help improve the professional competence of the classroom teachers in the field of testing and evaluation.
About 35 participants from different Central Universities, Colleges and Institutions are participating in the workshop. Dr. V. Illangovan, Dr. G.M. Ansari, Dr. Md. Salim, Dr. Taiyab Ali Khan, Dr. Murali Mohana, Dr. Amit Jha, and Dr. Narayan Reddy were present on the occasion. Prof. D. G. Rao, Director, CIIL, is the overall patron of the workshop.
