Mysuru: District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota and Samvahana Prakashana together had organised a programme at JSS Women’s College in Saraswathipuram here on Sunday in memory of late Yenagi Balappa for the release of the English and Marathi version of books originally written by Journalist Ganesh Amingad. The book is translated to English by Krishnachander and to Marathi by Gopal Mahamuni.
Releasing the books, Sarod Maestro Pandit Rajiv Taranath opined that books on Yenagi Balappa are very informative. He said that such books take a person to yesteryears of peace and harmony. He regretted that mankind has become unaware of harmony with animosity breeding at all levels literally reviving the stone-age culture.
Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamji graced the occasion. Retired IAS Officer Dr. C. Somashekar, theatre artistes Srinivas G. Kappanna, D.N. Damodar Shetty, Journalist B. Ganapathy, Yenagi Balappa’s sons Dr. Basavaraj Yenagi, Subhash Yenagi, Parishat Mysuru President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, Publisher D.N. Lokappa and Kalakoota President M. Chandrashekar were present.
