Mysore/Mysuru: Seeking fulfillment of their long standing and just demands, workers and staff of all the four State-run Road Transport Corporations (KSTRC, NWKRTC, KKRTC, BMTC) will launch an indefinite stir from Mar. 24.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, KSRTC Staff and Workers Union Mysuru District Convenor C.D. Vishwanath said that thousands of KSRTC workers staged a peaceful demonstration for four days from Mar.1 to 4 at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park seeking fulfillment of their demands, which are long pending. But the Government failed to respond to our demonstration and as such, we are forced to launch an indefinite stir from Mar. 24, which will severely affect public transport.
Pointing out that the demands include a wage hike, filling up of vacant posts, re-instatement of all workers who were dismissed for taking part in the previous stir held in Apr. 2021 by boycotting work, among others. The workers and staff will have no alternative other than resorting to strike, he said adding that all bus services will be suspended from Mar. 24, if their demands were not met by the Transport Department by then.
