Transporters, a bane for residents on Kshetraiah Road

Sir,

The residents of Kshetraiah Road in K.R. Mohalla under Ward No. 36 have been facing problems with the increase of private transport offices over the past few months. The transporters frequently indulge in rowdyism thereby posing a threat to people living in the area.

Women and children are not safe as lorry drivers, cleaners and loaders gather in large numbers and block the streets. Lorries and trucks travelling in high speed are also posing threat to senior citizens living in the area. The parking of lorries on the road has denied sufficient parking space for residents.

We are also denied our right to walk on the footpath as the transporters pile up the materials. The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and City Traffic Police must take measures to stop this menace and provide a safe environment for the residents.
