Jagava Suttuva Maye book released
Mysore/Mysuru: “Tourism is a disease of the modern world. But travelling is a natural trait of a person since ages,” opined writer and journalist Jogi.
He was speaking after releasing the book Jagava Suttuva Maye, written by Suchitra Hegde on Sunday.
The book, published by Kavitha Prakashana was released at a function organised at University of Mysore’s Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri.
“At present, many nations are earning revenue through tourism. But personally, I have no interest in tourism, but have interest in travelling. Tourism is a business and it gives same experience to all travellers. For example, if you take the experiences of two persons of their travel, it will be the same. The experience of any two persons should not be the same, but should be different. Different opinions always give a broader view. But there is no such different experience in tourism,” the writer added.
Now we have concepts of Food Tourism and Book Tourism. According to the intentions of businessmen of various sectors, various tourisms are being evolved. Similarly, everyone will have his own intentions about tourism,” said Jogi and quipped that politicians, while touring foreign nations, are interested in knowing the methods of corruption practiced there.
Observing that travelling is a welcome change from daily routines, the writer said that it will also enable people to understand each other.
Jogi appreciated Suchitra Hegde for bringing out her experiences through a book. “Special effort is required to record travel experiences and that can be seen in every article written by the author. While reading this book, one is tempted to visit the countries and also, a reader will get information about the countries,” he concluded.
“In the book, the writer has unveiled the poetic form of narration and while reading this book, poems of many writers pass through our mind. As such, this is Literary Tourism and the book has a poetic style of narration,” said G.N. Mohan, journalist and Publisher.
University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar presided. Book author Suchitra Hegde and Ganesh Amingada of Kavitha Prakashana were present.
