The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) cut about 20 trees between DC office arch and Scouts and Guides Grounds in an effort to make way for the road widening. The authorities are taking up the widening of the road following several complaints of traffic congestion from the arch to Baden Powell School on the Krishnaraja Boulevard.
Though the action drew flak from nature lovers and general public, the MCC sources said that they had no option but to cut the trees to solve the traffic woes.
