Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Photo and Video Journalists Association has condoled the death of senior press photographer Netra Raju, who passed away in city recently.
Floral tributes were offered to the portrait of the departed senior photographer at a condolence meeting held at the Institution of Engineers on JLB Road here yesterday.
Speaking at the condolence meeting, ‘Law Guide’ monthly magazine Editor Venkatesh said that Netra Raju had rendered remarkable service as a press photographer for decades. As a mark of respect, the monthly magazine has proposed to present Pratibha Puraskar of Rs.10,000 to each of the children of members of Photo and Video Journalists Association, who score high marks in SSLC every year, he added.
Association President Pragathi Gopalakrishna recalled Netra Raju’s commitment and dedication to the profession. Pointing out that the extraordinary skills of Netra Raju was an inspiration for budding photographers, he said that his professionalism and creativity brought him name and fame.
He pointed out that Netra Raju will always be remembered for his outstanding photographs that have made a big impact on the society.
Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) Vice-President M.S. Basavanna (Anurag Basavaraj), Press Photographers M.N. Lakshminarayana Yadav, M.N. Sriram, Hampa Nagaraj and S. Udayshankar, journalists Ram, K.P. Nagaraj, Naveen, Karthik, Vatal Anand, M.T. Yogesh Kumar and others were present.
