Two arrested for selling Kerala State lottery tickets

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) and Periyapatna Police, on Wednesday, have arrested two persons on charges of selling Kerala State lottery tickets in Periyapatna.

Those arrested are 35-year-old Arun Kumar, a driver by profession and residing near Masanikamma Temple in Periyapatna and 45-year-old Swamy, also of Periyapatna. They were caught while selling the lottery tickets.

Based on the information received by Additional SP Mallik, the Police conducted the raid near the firewood depot in the town on Wednesday evening, found Arun selling the lottery tickets, arrested him and seized the lottery tickets worth Rs. 32,200, mobile phone and Rs. 20,000 cash from him.

In the second raid, the Police arrested Swamy when he was selling the lottery tickets at a hotel on Kushalnagar Road in Periyapatna and seized 55 sets of Kerala State lottery tickets worth about Rs. 33,000, one mobile phone and Rs. 2,930 cash from him. Both the cases have been registered at Periyapatna Police Station.
