Mysuru: V.V. Puram Police, who arrested two burglars, have recovered two high-end cell phones (Apple iPhones), a 25 gram gold chain and a TVS XL moped allegedly stolen by them.
The arrested have been identified as Murali, 24, of B.M. Shri Nagar in city and Vinay Kumar alias Jayakumar alias Tibet, 24 of Mogarahalli Manti on KRS Road in the outskirts of the city.
Acting on a tip off, the Police picked up the two when they were found moving in a suspicious manner on Kalidasa Road, V.V. Mohalla on Feb.14.
During interrogation, the two confessed to have stolen two high-end cell phones from a house in Yadavagiri and lifted a TVS XL moped parked in front of a Bar in Bamboo Bazaar, which they used for snatching a chain from a woman in Brindavan Extension recently.
Following the duo’s confession, the Police recovered two Apple iPhones, a 25 gram gold chain and the stolen TVS XL moped used by the duo for committing the crime. The total value of the recovered stolen articles is about Rs.2.5 lakh, according to the Police.
The nabbing and seizure operation was carried out by V.V. Puram Inspector H.N. Vinay and staff, under the guidance of DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and ACP C. Gopal.
