Mysuru: A two-day ‘Forensic Fair’ organised jointly by the Department of Forensic Medicine, JSS Medical College (JSSMC), Karnataka Police Academy (KPA), City Police, Department of Criminology, University of Mysore, Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) and Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) commenced this morning at the premises of JSS Medical College here.
The fair is open to public with free entry from 10.30am to 5pm and is being held for the second time in city. The organisers have set up 8 stalls at the fair displaying posters on bite marks of humans and animals, traffic signals, how to collect evidences at the crime scene, cyber crime, importance of blood stains, saving poison victims, gas geyser accidents and food adulterants determination. A stall has a display of various types of guns, rifles and pistols including AK-47.
The fair was inaugurated by JSS Medical College Principal Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa. KPA Assistant Director S. Raju, JSS University Registrar Dr. B. Manjunath and others were present.
Corporator Snake Shyam explained about various types of snakes to the visitors.
JSS Medical College has organised a CME (Continuing Medical Education) programme on Forensic Update on Dec. 23 at 10.30 am at Rajendra auditorium in JSS Hospital premises.
