JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru, in association with Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), Mumbai, has organised a free speech and hearing evaluation and hearing aid distribution camp on Feb. 23 and Feb. 24 at the institute premises on M.G. Road in city.Those having hearing problems may get their hearing tested and avail hearing aid freely if eligible. Those who have availed this facility in the previous year can get their instruments for reprogramming and repair if necessary. Individuals with monthly income of up to Rs. 15,000 are eligible to get hearing aid free of cost and those who have monthly income between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 20,000 may get the aids with 50 percent discount.
Eligible individuals may attend the camp with a copy of their Aadhaar card, hearing disability certificate with 40 percent or above hearing disability (issued by Civil Surgeon/competent authority of respective State Government), income certificate and two recent passport size photos.
