Mysuru: The two-day Annual State-level Commerce, Management and IT Fest ‘IGNITE -2019’ organised by Vidya Vikas First Grade College got off to a colourful start at “Lalitha Smaraka Bhavana” Auditorium at its premises on Bannur Road here yesterday.
The fest includes core events like Human Resource Management, Financial Analysis, Best Manager, Marketing, Photography, Treasure Hunt, Games and Codification, an innovative IT event.
Inaugurating the programme, Mysore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar opined that such events would hone the communication skills of students who otherwise would be ill-equipped with only classroom lessons.
He however pointed out that today’s students were really smart and raring to accept challenges in this competitive world.
He advised students not to worry about winning a prize in any contest as participation was more important than result. He suggested that at least 10% of graduating students should become entrepreneurs.
Mysore University College Development Council Director Dr. S. Srikanta Swamy was the guest of honour. Vidya Vikas Institutions Secretary Kaveesh V. Gowda presided.
Director (Academics) Dr. Michael Noronha, College Principal Dr. Mujeeda Banu, Programme Co-ordinators Oscar Abhishek, Dr. C.J. Priya and others were present.
About 100 students from various colleges participated in the fest that concluded this evening.
