Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan to inaugurate event
Bengaluru/Mysuru: A two-day Summit of the Board for IT Education Standards (BITES) will be held at the Infosys Learning Campus in Mysuru from Feb 10.
A press release from BITES Chairman Prof. S. Sadagopan said “This is the Fourth Edition of the Conference organised by the IT Education Standards Board and aims to improve the quality of professional education in the State and to develop human resources for the IT sector.”
Minister of Electronics, Information Technology – Biotechnology, Science and Technology, Higher Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan will inaugurate the Summit and will also take part in a conference on Industry Revolution 4.0 opportunities and challenges.
BITES is an autonomous body and a non-profit society promoted by the State Government in association with educational institutions and IT Industries in Karnataka to enhance the quality of IT education and help build quality manpower for the IT industry.
On the occasion, the Minister will be launching ‘Bytes Unnathi’, a programme for achieving the targeted goals in the next three years. Employment training to 10,000 youths from rural areas has been planned under the ‘Bytes Unnathi’. Over 1,000 companies will be choosing the youths for training using artificial intelligence, the release said.
Also, under the same programme, 1,000 girl students will be getting corporate scholarships and over 1,000 faculty will get training on future technologies.
Over 10,000 students are expected to participate in the Conference. As many as 100 engineering colleges, including 16 government engineering colleges, will benefit from ‘Bytes Unnathi’, the release said.
