Chamarajanagar: Two bike riders died in a head-on collision with a Bolero vehicle coming from the opposite direction, here yesterday.
The victims are M.S. Girish Babu, resident of Vidyaranyapuram in Mysuru, who was the Mysuru District Electrical Contractors Association’s Organising Secretary and Kumar, a resident of Kuvempunagar in Mysuru. Both were electrical contractors.
Girish and Kumar were travelling on the bike from Mysuru to Chamarajanagar. A Bolero vehicle was moving towards Mysuru from Chamarajanagar when both the vehicles collided head-on near Bendawadi Kere.
As a result ,Girish died on the spot and Kumar, who was grievously injured was given first aid at Chamarajanagar District Hospital and then shifted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru where he succumbed to injuries, said Traffic Sub Inspector K. Deepak.
After the accident the driver of the vehicle tried to flee from the spot. However, getting a clue from the mirror of the Bolero which had fallen and information from the public, the Police arrested the driver, he said. Traffic Police have registered a case.
