Rs. One lakh worth electronic goods seized
Mysuru: N.R. Police, on Oct.25, have arrested two persons on charges of cheating a finance company and have seized electronic goods from them.
The arrested persons have been identified as 33-year-old Bhagyaraj, a resident of J.P. Nagar and 22-year-old Justin, a resident of AJ Block in N.R. Mohalla.
The duo had opened a shop with the name ‘Raj’s Electronics Shoppee’ on Shivaji Road in N.R. Mohalla and used to collect documents from customers to provide loans for the products selected by them.
They then used to provide the documents of the customers to the finance company and after the loans were sanctioned, the duo did not provide the loan amount to the customers but used to spend the money for their personal use, create fake bills stating that they had sold the items to customers, thus cheating the finance company to the tune of Rs. 25 lakh.
Following the complaint lodged by the finance company on Oct. 24, the N.R. Police arrested the duo the next day and have also seized electronic goods worth about Rs. 1 lakh from them.
DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe supervised N.R. Sub-Division ACP Umesh G. Shet, who led N.R. Inspector T. Ashok Kumar and staff Ramesh and Manjunath in the nabbing and seizing operation.
