Mysuru: In a major drug haul in recent times, the Alanahalli Police, who arrested two persons, have recovered 700 gms of ganja from them.
The arrested have been identified as Praveen Poojari and Girish, both of them in their mid twenties and hailing from Mangaluru, while the third accused Rohith managed to escape.
Praveen Poojari, Girish and Rohith had come in a Duster Car (KA-19 MC-7183) from Mangaluru yesterday morning and had purchased 700 gms of ganja from a drug peddler in the city, by paying Rs.12,000.
Alanahalli Police, acting on a tip off, raided a vacant space close to the Indira Canteen along a road leading to Chamundi Hill and succeeded in nabbing Praveen Poojari and Girish, while Rohith managed to escape in the car they had come.
The Police recovered 700 gms ganja from the nabbed duo, it is learnt. Alanahalli Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
