Rs. 1.5 lakh cash recovered
Mysuru: Devaraja Police, on Feb. 7, have arrested two persons on charges of snatching a cash bank from a person and have recovered Rs. 1.5 lakh from them.
The arrested are 28-year-old Rajesh and 52-year-old Shanmugam, both residents of O.G. Kuppam village, Chittor district in Andhra Pradesh.
On Nov. 14, 2018, Raju, a resident of Vijayanagar, had withdrawn Rs. 2 lakh from Karur Vysya Bank on Vinoba Road in Shivarampet and was walking towards his car, when bike borne miscreants snatched his cash bag and sped away. Devaraja Police, who had registered a case, arrested the two accused and during interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of committing the crime along with four others, who used to keep a watch on those withdrawing large cash from banks. The Police have lodged a hunt to nab the others.
DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and Devaraja ACP G.S. Gajendra Prasad, supervised Devaraja Inspector Prasanna Kumar, SI S. Raju, ASI Udayakumar and staff Somashetty, Suresh, Venugopal, Manjunath, Umesh and Nandish in the nabbing and recovery operation, according to a press release from the City Police Commissioner’s office.
