Two houses burgled: Valuables worth lakhs of rupees stolen

Mysuru: In separate cases, burglars who broke into two houses, have decamped with gold ornaments and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees in city yesterday.

In the first case, burglars who broke into a house of Dr. Chunchaiah in Vijayanagar 4th Stage on Saturday, by forcibly entering through the rear door, have decamped with Rs. 3,500 cash, 138 grams gold ornaments, watch and imitation jewellery worth about Rs. 3.5 lakh kept in the almirah and cupboard of the house. Dr. Chunchaiah, at about 1 pm had locked the house and had gone outside. When he returned at about 6 pm, he found the house burgled and immediately lodged a complaint at Vijayanagar Police Station.

Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.

In the second case, burglars who entered the house of one Khadeer Pasha at Siddique Nagar 3rd Cross here by breaking open the front door, have decamped with Rs. 1.20 lakh cash, 344 grams gold ornaments, watch and imitation jewellery kept in the almirah at the house.

Pasha, at about 11.30 am on Saturday had locked his house and had been to his mother’s house in Bannimantap here. The incident came to light when Pasha’s brother went to the house in the evening. Pasha later lodged a complaint at N.R. Police Station in this regard.
