T. Narasipur: Two Infosys employees from Mysuru, who were heading towards Shimsha were killed, when the two-wheeler on which they were riding, collided head-on with a four-wheeler on the Mysuru-T. Narasipur Ring Road near Hinduvalu village yesterday.
The deceased have been identified as Purandara Mishra (22) and Suraj (23), both native of Odisha. While Mishra was killed on the spot, Suraj succumbed to injuries on the way to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru.
Following long weekend, Mishra and Suraj, along with their colleagues Niranjan Mishra, Sachin and Binod, had hired scooters to go to Gaganachukki and Barachukki falls and also to Talakad. They left in the early morning and stopped at Shivanasamudra. After visiting Shivanasamudra, they proceeded further and when they reached Hinduvalu Village, Mishra, who was riding the scooter, lost control of it and allegedly rammed into the Renault Duster coming from Bengaluru in the opposite direction.
While Mishra died on the spot, the seriously injured Suraj was first rushed to T. Narasipur Government Hospital, where he was provided first aid and was being rushed to Mysuru, when he died midway.
It is learnt that, though the vehicle rental firm had provided helmets, the deceased were not wearing the same resulting in both sustaining severe head injuries. T. Narasipur Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
