Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised two Karnatak vocal concerts on May 11 at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar.
The first concert from 6 pm to 7.30 pm will be by Vidu. Shylaja Srirambhat and the second concert from 7.30 pm to 9 pm by Vidu. Girija Ravishankar. Vid. Keshav and Vid. V. R. Raghunandana Bhargava will be accompanying both the concerts on violin and mridanga respectively.
Vidu. Shylaja Srirambhat is a disciple of Vidu. Dr. R. N. Srilatha. She has secured Gold medal in MA Music and has also completed Vidwat exam. A ‘B’ Grade artiste of All India Radio, she has secured prize in the Raga Tana Pallavi competition organised by Shruthimanjari, Mysuru. She has performed in various sabhas both inside and outside Karnataka and has also worked as a faculty in the Fine Arts College, University of Mysore.
Vidu. Girija Ravishankar started learning music at the tender age of 3 from her mother and continued under Vidu. Dr. R. N. Srilatha and later on under Vid. R. N. Thyagarajan. She is also trained in violin and Bharathanatyam. She has secured prize in the Ranjan Harve Pallavi competition organised by Shruthimanjari and has also completed Vidwat exam. Having performed in concerts both in India and abroad, she has also got an exposure to Jazz and Arabic music.
