Two minors arrested for bike thefts

Mysore/Mysuru: Alanahalli Police have arrested two minors who were involved in bike thefts and have recovered five motorcycles worth Rs. 2.50 lakh.

The duo was arrested when they were trying to sell the stolen motorcycles near Deve Gowda Circle on Aug. 12 at about 9 am. Later during interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of being involved in bike thefts following which the Police recovered five motorcycles — two in Alanahalli Police limits, two in Nazarbad Police limits and one from Bannur Police limits — from the accused.

Earlier, the Police had formed a special team after bike thefts were reported opposite KEB office near Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel in Alanahalli Police limits on Aug. 10.

The Police team, guided by DCP S. Jahnavi, was headed by Devaraja ACP Shanthamallappa. Alanahalli Police Inspector G.S. Swarna, PSI K.S. Gangadhar, ASI Srinivas Gowda and staff Kiran Rathod, Manjunath Gadagaigol, Mallikarjun and. R. Malathi took part in the nabbing and seizing operations.
