Mandya: In a serial road accident involving three vehicles, two motorcyclists were killed on the spot, when the two-wheeler on which they were travelling was knocked down from behind by a car near Siddayyanakoppalu Gate on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway this morning.
Even as the car knocked down the bike riders, killing then on the spot, a tempo traveller that was moving closely behind the car, hit the car, resulting in the serial mishap.
The deceased have been identified as Madesh (45) and James (30), both residents of Mandya.
Madesh and James, said to be construction workers, were travelling for work on a bike, when they were fatally knocked down by a speeding car, which was also hit from behind by a Tempo Traveller.
The serial mishap resulted in a huge traffic jam for over 30 minutes on the busy Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway, with vehicles piling up on both sides of the road for up to 5 kms. Mandya Rural Police, who have registered a case in this regard, have shifted the bodies to Mandya District Hospital mortuary.
