Two Mysureans in Karnataka Tennis Team for National Games 2022

Two Mysuru tennis players — Prajwal Dev (Rank – 10) and G. Manish (Rank – 25) — have found place in the Karnataka team announced by the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) for tennis event of the 36th National Games being held in Gujarat from Sept. 27 to Oct. 10.

The 26-year-old Prajwal Dev is the son of Devraj and Nirmala, residents of T.K. Layout. The 21-year-old G. Manish is the son of V.M. Ganesh and Mamatha, residents of Gokulam in city. Both are products of Mysore Tennis Club (MTC), Mysuru.

Announcing the Karnataka team in Bengaluru recently, Shriranga Sudhakar, Chairman of KSLTA Selection Committee, said: “We have selected a good blend of youth and experience to the team to represent Karnataka at the prestigious National Games 2022. Karnataka has always been a strong Tennis State in India and we are hopeful of this team performing to the best of their ability to ensure maximum medals are secured for the State.”

Men’s Team: 1. Prajwal Dev, 2. Rishi Reddy, 3. Adil Kalyanpur, 4. G. Manish and 5. Rashein Samuel; Reserves: Suraj Prabodh and T. Tathagat Charantimath.

Women’s Team: 1. Sharmada Balu, 2. Soha Sadiq, 3. Vidula Amar, 4. Vanshita Pathania and 5. Reshma Maruri; Reserves: 1. Pratibha Prasad Narayan and 2. S. Srinidhi.

Captain (Non Playing): Peter Vijaykumar; Coach: Kiran Nandakumar.
