Mysuru: In two separate incidents, two persons were run over by trains near Jayanagar and in City Railway Station yesterday night and today morning.
In the first incident, which occurred this morning, a 27-year-old youth was run over by a train near Jayanagar early this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Gangadhar alias Sanju, son of Devaraju, a resident of Ashokapuram and a mason by profession.
It is suspected that Sanju, a hearing impaired youth, may have been run over by the train while crossing the railway track near Jayanagar here.
Railway Police Inspector R.P. Ashok, SI Krishnamurthy and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides registering a case.
In the second incident, an unidentified person was run over by a Bengaluru bound train on Platform No. 3 in City Railway Station here yesterday night.
The unidentified person, aged about 55 years was wearing a blue stripped shirt and a black pant.
Railway Police, who have registered a case in this regard, have shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary.
