Gundlupet: Two tigers, a male and a female were found dead in the Bandipur Tiger Reserve near Hangala in Hinikere of Gundlupet taluk. As soon as the news reached the Forest Department in the early hours of today, Conservator of Forest, Bandipur Tiger Reserve, Ambadi Madhav, Veterinary Doctor Dr. Nagaraju, RFO Puttaswamy, Wildlife Warden Chelavaraj, Raghuram rushed to the interior of the forests, where the tigers were found lying dead.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, here this morning, Ambadi Madhav said that the tigers might have died after they broke into a fight last night. However, the details will be known only after the post mortem is conducted, he added.
This Bandipur Tiger Reserve comes under the Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta Range.
