Two villages in Nanjangud taluk reports zero Corona cases; Minister to visit soon

Mysore/Mysuru: Two villages in Nanjangud Taluks including Katanur have not reported a single COVID positive case. Since these two villages are model for the whole State, he would visit those villages next week to seek how they have been able to do it so that it can be replicated in other villages, said Co-operation and District-in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar.

He was talking to reporters in Nanjangud after visiting Primary Health Centres and meeting at Taluk Panchayat here yesterday.

The Minister said on the one hand the number of Corona positive cases are increasing in taluk and on the other hand the number of discharge of people after recovering was also climbing up. But there is a need to create awareness among people about Covid. Already, MLAs, Deputy Commissioner and Tahsildar have held meetings regarding setting of an oxygen plant in the premises of Nanjangud PHC.

Earlier, the Minister visited Kotaiyanahundi and Kodlur Covid Centres in Varuna Assembly Constituency to study it’s functioning and found that there has been shortage of oxygen, doctors, medical staff in these two PHCs and recruitment of doctors has started. 

DC Rohini Sindhuri, who visited Hucchagani Village in Nanjangud taluk yesterday, interacted with villagers and officials and took stock of the situation. 

MLAs Dr Yathindra Siddharamaiah and Harshavardhan, DC Rohini Sindhuri, SP C.B. Ryshyanth, Tahsildar Mohankumari and others were present.
