Two-wheeler-laden-truck topples killing pedestrian

Suntikoppa: A woman, who was walking on the roadside, was killed, when a truck carrying two-wheelers to a showroom in Kerala toppled on her at Suntikoppa yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Dilshad (53), a resident of Ramanathapura in Hassan district.

The truck (TN-70-A-7461), which was proceeding from Hosur in Bengaluru Rural district after loading brand new two-wheelers to a showroom at Kasargod in Kerala, when the truck driver lost control of the vehicle at Suntikoppa resulting in the truck toppling on Dilshad, who was walking on the roadside, killing her on the spot. Dilshad had come to Suntikoppa to attend the funeral of a relative.

Passersby, who rushed to the spot, managed to rescue truck driver Shivashakthi, who was trapped in the truck.
A crane was summoned to the spot and when the truck was lifted, the body of Dilshad was found.

Suntikoppa Assistant Sub-Inspector (In-Charge) Kaverappa, Head Constable Satish and staff, rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and have registered a case.

A few brand new two-wheelers have also been damaged in the incident.
