Three vehicles worth about Rs.1 lakh recovered
Mysuru: Devaraja Police, on Dec.4, arrested a 28-year-old youth who was moving around on a scooter in a suspicious manner and subjected him to interrogation during which the Police came to know that he was a two-wheeler lifter. The accused is Shekar of Kurimandi in Kesare 1st Stage.
During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of indulging in extortion and lifting two bikes in Devaraja Police limits and one two-wheeler in K.R. Police limits. Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered one Honda Activa scooter and two Hero Honda Passion bikes worth about Rs.1 lakh and Rs. 250 cash in the extortion case from him.
The accused used to steal two-wheelers parked in parking lot by breaking the handle locks.
DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP G.S. Gajendraprasad supervised Devaraja Inspector Prasanna Kumar, SI S. Raju, ASI Uday Kumar and staff Venugopal, Somashetty, Suresh, Umesh, Nandeesh and Vasanth in the nabbing operation, according to a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s Office, Mysuru.
