Periyapatna: In a tragic incident, a two-year-old girl child was killed on the spot when a tempo carrying LPG cylinders ran over her while she was playing at Bootanahalli village in Periyapatna taluk last evening.
The deceased girl has been identified as Vaishnavi (Kruthika), daughter of Kumara (Thimma), a resident of Bootanahalli.
The tempo (KA-12 B-2136) belonging to a Bharat Gas distributer at Bylakuppe, which had come to the village to distribute LPG cylinders to consumers, was stationed in the village.
Vaishnavi, who was playing nearby had come near the wheels of the tempo when the driver moved the tempo killing her on the spot.
Periyapatna Circle Inspector H.N. Siddaiah, who has registered a case, is investigating.
