Mysuru: Vidya Vikas First Grade College (VVFGC) and Post Graduate Department of Social Work adopted Udbur village, Jayapura Hobli, with a population of 14,000 people for the Annual NSS and Social Service Camp.
The inaugural ceremony was held recently at Udbur Government School premises. Principal of VVFGC Dr. Mujeeda Banu, who is also the Director of the Camp, inaugurated. Prof. Dr. Michael Noronha, Director-Academics, Vidya Vikas Institute of Management Studies, congratulated the students for doing social service at a young age and called upon them to work with zeal, commitment, dedication and pride.
He said as “Ambassadors of the College” they should help people by creating awareness on Swachh Bharat and avoid evil effects of substance abuse. Highlighting the role of education in economic development, he said that it was an opportunity to learn and practice a disciplined schedule. As part of the camp, people were made aware about personality development, prevention of alcohol and drugs consumption, prevention of fire accidents at home and protection of children and women.
Navyashree welcomed. Dr. Mohan Monterio, Dean-Academics, MBA Department, Prof. Basheer Ahmed, Academic Coordinator, Oscar Abhishek, HoD, UG Department of Commerce and Management, Dr. Sharath, HoD, PG Department of Mathematics, Camp Coordinators Kumar and Jai Santosh Naik were present. Dr. V.S.T. Krishna, HoD, PG Department of Social Work, proposed a vote of thanks.
