Mysore/Mysuru: Meena Bazaar Merchants Association and Social Welfare Committee, Tipu Hall on Sawday Road in Lashkar Mohalla, has organised Ugadi and Ramzan Mela-2026 from March 1 to 20.
Committee Secretary Afroz Pasha, who is supervising Sawday Road, Meena Bazaar and cross roads during Ugadi and Ramzan Mela, stated that over thousand shops selling varieties of clothes, dress materials, footwear, bangles and other items will be put up at Meena Bazaar by businessmen from other States.
Afroz Pasha has urged MLAs Tanveer Sait and K. Harishgowda to recommend the Police, MCC Commissioner, CESC, Fire Brigade and other departments to provide facilities as lakhs of people will be arriving for the Mela from Mysuru city, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Hassan, Kodagu and other districts.
Meena Bazaar Merchants Association has also requested the Police Department to give permission to keep the shops open till midnight from Mar. 5 to 20. Traders and shop owners are requested not to erect shamiyanas on the road, as it would hamper the movement of public.
During Ramzan Mela, space for Iftar (Dusk feast) has been arranged for ladies at Meelad Park from 6 pm to 7 pm daily.
Pay and use toilet facility and parking facility is made near Kantharaja Park on Ashoka Road West Cross.
Afroz Pasha has urged the shop owners, traders and the public not to give any donations and to inform him or call Mandi Police Station on Ph: 0821-2418313 if they find any one collecting donations in the name of Meena Bazaar Merchants Association.
