Ugadi Music Fest at Palace to conclude this evening

Mysuru; The three-day Ugadi Sangeethotsava organised by the Mysore Palace Board in the Palace premises got off to a start on Saturday, with music-lovers thronging the venue.

On Sunday, the second day of the event, a musical presentation by Karnataka Police Band at 6 pm enthralled the audience. The team comprised M.R. Hanumantharaju, V. Satish, M.R. Udaykumar, R. Dasappa, M.V. Shivakumar, N. Jayaram, Karthik, M.V. Shanthakumar, S. Padmanabha, M.R. Srikanth, M. Thyagaraju, M.V. Madhusudhan and N. Kumar.

The English Band team was led by B. Manjunath. The Band gave a performance based on 12 different Ragas and Talas.

The Police Band event was followed by a grand Jugalbandi by renowned violinist Dr. Mysore Manjunath and flautist Pandit Praveen Godkhindi. The duo were accompanied by B.C. Manjunath on mridanga, Kiran Godkhindi on tabla, Bhumika on tamboori and Abhishek on rhythm pad.

The first day of the musical fest on Saturday featured a Mangalavadya and Saxophone presentation by Yadukumar and team and an entertaining folk song performance by noted singer Ananya Bhat and team.

The fest concludes this evening with a veena recital by Dr. S.V. Sahana at 6 pm, followed by a Layalahari presentation by Vidwan H.L. Shivashankaraswamy and team at 7 pm.
