Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev, representing India and taking part in the ongoing Uganda F2 Futures 15,000$ ITF tennis tourney for men in (May 7- May 13) won the men’s singles pre-quarter-final tie against Sweden’s Christoffer Solberg 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 on Thursday.
In the other second round men’s singles tie, Mysuru lad C. Vasisht lost to India’s Ranjeet Virali Murugesan 3-6, 6-7 (6) and bowed out of the tournament.
In the first round, Prajwal Dev had scored a well earned win over Serbia’s Goran Markovic 2-6, 6-0, 6-4, while Vasisht beat Spain’s Hego Largo 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Vasisht played the qualifying rounds and entered the main draw. In the first round, Vasisht beat Paras Dahiya 6-1, 6-4 and in the second and final qualifying round beat Ahmed Choudhary of Pakistan 6-1, 6-2.
In men’s doubles first round, Prajwal and Vasisht duo lost to D.Shalva and N.Ivan of Russia 6-4, 4-6 (7-10).
