Mysore/Mysuru: MUDA officials on Tuesday vacated unauthorised occupants of four EWS houses in Rajivnagar second stage, built by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) decades ago. MUDA had built EWS houses at Rajivnagar second stage in the city in 1987 and some of them remained unoccupied for different reasons.
Taking advantage of the houses remaining empty, some persons occupied four of them unauthorised and started making minor repairs to the houses.
MUDA officials, who learnt about this, launched an operation and evacuated the unauthorised occupants, following which the houses were taken possession of.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that MUDA has discovered that 60 houses built by it and 89 sites allotted by it remaining vacant in different Layouts of the city. Following the discovery, MUDA has planned to dispose them off through e-auction.
MUDA Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh told SOM that MUDA expects to earn a revenue of Rs. 80 to 90 crore through e-auction of the vacant sites and houses.
Cautioning unscrupulous elements against encroaching MUDA land and sites, he appealed members of the public to send pictures of the encroached properties along with their location to WhatsApp Number: 99000-03232.
