Mysuru: Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Chemicals, Fertilizers and Pharmaceuticals H.N. Ananth Kumar will inaugurate the 40th anniversary celebrations of Star of Mysore, at a function to be held at the Platinum Jubilee auditorium of MMC&RI, J.K. Grounds here on Feb. 17 (Saturday) at 4.30 pm.
Indian Mythologist, Author and Star of Mysore Columnist Devdutt Pattanaik and Editorial Advisor of The New Indian Express, Padma Bhushan T.J.S. George will be the guests of honour.
As part of the celebrations, Devdutt Pattanaik will deliver a special lecture.
On the occasion, the book titled “Star of Mysore — Story of a unique evening english newspaper” written by Star of Mysore Founder and Editor-in-Chief K.B. Ganapathy will be released by the doyen of journalism T.J.S. George.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Rajeev Gandhi Central University, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, Prof. K.C. Belliappa will speak on the book.
Five senior staff of SOM will be felicitated in recognition of their services. Publisher of the book Star of Mysore — Story of a unique evening english newspaper”, T.S. Chayapathy will also be honoured.
JSS University Director (Academic) Dr. P.A. Kushalappa and Preethi Prakash Prabhu, both of Geeth Gaatha Chal-fame will render the invocation.
Books available: Devdutt Pattanaik’s books both in Kannada and English will available at the venue.
K.B. Ganapathy’s new book Star of Mysore — Story of a unique evening english newspaper will also be on display-cum-sale at the auditorium.
