Unsafe ways of drawing cables by service providers

Has CESC relinquished its responsibility to public?

Sir,

Indiscriminate and unsafe methods of laying cables by internet and cable TV service providers have been a frequent source of complaints. However, the practice continues unchecked, as neither the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) nor the service providers seem to respond to this serious civic hazard.

I have attached a photograph showing a cable from an electric pole sagging at just 6 to 7 feet from the ground near my house on 9th Cross, Saraswathipuram.

CESC denies responsibility, advising me to contact the service provider. However, there is no way to identify whose cables they are, as all the providers refuse to acknowledge ownership.

It appears that CESC has permitted internet service providers to use electric poles for tying cables, but it’s common to see these cables haphazardly attached. The intermingling of open electric wires with these cables is particularly alarming and poses a significant danger, potentially leading to disastrous accidents. I urge the authorities to take immediate action, ensuring accountability before a serious incident occurs.
