Unscientific humps on Mysuru-Mandya service road

Sir,

A couple of days back I travelled between Mysuru and Mandya taking the service road parallel to the Expressway.  Traffic was less on this road and the condition of the road is good and motorable, but for the innumerable number of unscientific  road humps.

There are 22 road humps between Mysuru and Mandya, spoiling the driving mood and causing damages to  the vehicle chassis.  Most of these humps are just a vertical  mount, which cannot be called as road humps by any standards.

There  are no indications of the approaching humps at most of the locations. Some locations do have well-designed hump indicators helping the motorists.

It appears that humps are being added to this road at the whims and fancies of the road contractor / sub-contractor, because I saw workers digging at two locations to install new road humps.

For the safety of the motorists, it is definitely advisable to have road humps on this road, to curtail the acceleration at cross roads. But the humps need to be properly designed with reflecting indicators warning the motorists of the road humps ahead of them.
