The Mysuru and Chamarajanagar District Primary School Untrained Teachers (SC&ST) Association has demanded wage parity among teachers.
Presiding over a meeting at Curzon Park premises here yesterday, Association President B. Sundar said that the Association’s continued struggle helped in 60 percent of untrained teachers getting wages and retirement wages on par with other teachers. However, 40 percent of the teachers are yet to get the benefits and a memorandum has been presented to Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait in this regard.
Urging the Government to cover all untrained teachers for wage parity, he declared that the Association would pursue the cause until it is fulfilled.
Association Secretary Chikkarayappa and other office-bearers attended the meeting.
