Sri Jayadeva Institute Director Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Sociologist Prof. R. Indira among Distinguished Alumni Awardees
Mysuru: University of Mysore Alumni Association (UMAA) is organising its second Global Alumni Meet-2019 at Rani Bahaddur Auditorium in Manasagangothri on Aug.24 at 10.30 am, said UMAA President Dr. Vasanth Kumar Thimkapura.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakartara Bhavan here this morning, he said that Dr. S. Ayyappan, Central Agricultural University Chancellor, Imphal, Manipur and Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, UMAA Chief Patron, will be the chief guests.
University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar will preside. Distinguished Alumni Awards Committee Chairman and Vice- President of UMAA N. Niranjan Nikam will be present.
As part of the Meet, Distinguished Alumni Awards will be conferred on eight achievers in different fields and they include Padma Bhushana Dr. M. Mahadevappa (Agriculture), Padma Bhushana Dr. B.N. Suresh (Science & Technology), Padma Shree Dr.C.N. Manjunath (Medicine), Padma Shree Prof. J.A.K. Tareen (Administration), Prof. Ramakrishna Reddy (USA) (Political Science), Prof. T.R. Seetharam (Engineering), Prof. R. Indira (Social Science) and Rajagopal Kadambi (Sports).

University of Mysore Alumni Association was re-launched on Sept. 22, 2015, during the Centenary Celebrations of the University. The first Global Alumni Meet was held on Feb. 6, 2016 at the same venue in Gangothri.
