Mallika Tharakan has been awarded Ph.D degree in Development Studies (Institute of Development Studies, Manasagangothri) by the University of Mysore (UoM) for her thesis titled “Empowerment and its association with well-being among rural adolescent girls in Koppal District, Karnataka” submitted under the guidance of Dr. M. Meera. Mallika is the daughter of Kambeyanda Swathi and Sunil Biddappa, retired Senior Vice-President, ITC Ltd.
