UoM Syndicate decides to renew autonomy of nine colleges

VC Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar’s term to end on Nov. 15

Mysore/Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) Syndicate meeting held at Crawford Hall here on Thursday decided to renew the autonomy of nine colleges coming under its jurisdiction, for a one-year period.

The meeting also approved promotion to University teachers that has been pending for long, subject to service rules and availability of funds and recognition for Research Institutions depending upon the academic and research infrastructure existing in them, besides discussing and deliberating on other academic issues.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Syndicate also resolved to hold another meeting soon to discuss urgent and pending issues, as the term of the current Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar will end on Nov. 15.
