Mysuru: Dasara Urdu Poets Meet (Urdu Mushaira), organised as part of Dasara – 2024 by the Dasara Poets Meet Sub-Committee will be held at P. Kalingarao auditorium at Dasara Exhibition Grounds at 9 pm on Oct. 8, said Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) Chairman Ayub Khan.
Addressing a press meet at his office, Ayub Khan said that the Dasara Poets Meet Sub-Committee has been organising the poets meet at a private place every year and this year it was decided to hold the same at Dasara Exhibition Grounds in which well-known poets will participate.
Pointing out that the Urdu Poets Meet will be inaugurated by District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, the KEA Chairman said that Poet Imran Pratap Ghadi will be the chief guest and Mahajabeen Nazam Gujal will preside.
Renowned poets Sampath Saral, Shambhavi Singh from Uttar Pradesh, Abuzar Nahid, Nazeem Farook Nizad are among 15 poets who will take part in the poets meet which will go on till late night for which around 4,000 seating arrangements have been made, he said.
City Congress President R. Murthy and others were present.
Wakf Board President Akram, Mohiddin Pasha and former Corporator Suhail Baig were present at the press meet.
