Mysuru: Ursu Mandali Sangha will celebrate the 139th birth anniversary of Rajarshi Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar at 8.30 am tomorrow (June 4) at the Sangha Office on Thyagaraja Road, K.R. Mohalla in city.
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Sangha President H.M.T. Lingaraje Urs said MLA T.S. Srivatsa, MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah, Corporator B.V. Manjunath, KPA Deputy Director N. Niranjanraje Urs and others will take part. A grand procession featuring a tableaux and folk troupes will be taken out from the Sangha to Kalamandira on Hunsur road to attend Nalwadi Jayanti organised by District Administration. The procession will pass through Agrahara Circle, Sayyaji Rao Road and K.R. Circle where the statue of Nalwadi will be garlanded, Lingaraje Urs said. The Sangha was established by the then Dewan of Mysore Sardar M. Kantharaje Urs on Aug. 21, 1922. Sangha Vice-President D. Jayadevaraje Urs, Celebration Committee President M.A. Srikanthraje Urs, Secretary Suma Urs, Joint Secretary N.B. Sharath, Treasurer Mallaraje Urs and others were present.
