The guidelines related to utilisation of funds under MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) scheme have been revised, making a provision to utilise the funds to create basic infrastructural facilities at Government Colleges and Engineering Colleges coming under Higher Education Department.
The funds can be utilised for building classroom, compound wall, library, laboratory, toilet at Government Colleges, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Polytechnic Colleges, Engineering Colleges and Government Job-Oriented Institutes, besides providing equipment to Engineering and Medical Colleges, installation of pure drinking water unit, road, play grounds and canteens. The funds can also be allotted to provide computers to all the Departments of Government-owned Universities.
